A Classic Super Bowl To End The Season

I think everyone thought that the 2018 Super Bowl would have the same type of outcome as 2017. Tom Brady would get another comeback and win an unprecedented 6 Super Bowls.

But the Eagles had other plans.

I love football, both college and pro. This year was epic for the final games. The Super Bowl came down to the last play and the college bowl series did too. Classic football games. As a football fan, you couldn’t ask for anything more, great teams playing great football.

How many incredible plays were there?

The fourth and one play with the touchdown catch by Nick Foles…the quarterback? The mid-air tippedĀ  interception by Patriot Duron Harmon on the 5 yard line. The only sack of the game in the fourth quarter by Brandon Graham causing Tom Brady to fumble? Or all the statistics that were broken. 52 were broken or tied. Besides the offensive ones that were insane (most total yards 1151, most passing yards 874 with 500 coming from the Pats), there was only one punt and one sack.

The other part of this game that I found so intriguing was listening to the Eagles speeches and interviews after the game. Dan Peterson, Nick Foles, Brandon Graham…all talking about the team, the camaraderie, the respect.

Both Peterson and Foles spoke of their faith. In his post Super Bowl interview, Nick Foles spoke about success and failure.

“Don’t be afraid to fail…”

Absolutely.

Without failure we don’t succeed. Without failure we don’t progress. Without failure we don’t know how much more we can accomplish.

All great people fail.

Even though failure is hard to accept, it has to be part of us. Nick Foles wouldn’t be a Super Bowl Champion without his failures. And as he said, his faith and family helped him through those tough times. Great inspiration.

Knowing you have your faith to fall back on, knowing you have your family allows you to endure the failures.

And then it makes the successes even that more sweet. Just look at Nick Foles.
