Time, Where Does It Go?
Today, Tai Lopez (@tailopez), tweeted: “So much to do. So little time. Anyone know how to create a 36 hour day?”
It got me thinking…
…why, especially during the holidays, does each day go by so quickly? I am not doing anything differently at work, so is it the added holiday “duties”?
Or could it be at the end of the year you realize that you didn’t quite get everything accomplished you planned?
I have learned that I get more done if I make a “to do list” every night. It lets me know what I finished during the day plus gives me a better idea of what my priorities need to be for the next day. The most frustrating days are those that I find I only got one or two things knocked off my list.
Where did my time go?
It is amazing when I think back, what I wasted it on.
And during the holidays it is worse. Shopping, baking, decorating, card writing, wrapping. Some days it is hard to get the most basic online work tasks accomplished. Let alone get ahead.
I start every day with the best of intentions, then invariably, something happens to derail me.
A forgotten present I intended to order.
An email from a friend I hadn’t heard from in a while, reaching out during the holiday.
Then there is my monthly and yearly goals list. Those things I wanted to find time for because they would help my business or just my over all well-being. It is December and there aren’t that many crossed off the list.
It is so disheartening.
As you age, you realize how fast time flies. Each new year comes quicker than the one before. Time becomes so valuable. And as we know…
…once it is gone, it doesn’t come back.
So with 15 days left in this year, I vow to myself to get one more major item off my goal list. All my presents are bought and on their way to Michigan. I will set aside 10 minutes every day to write a card or send an email to a person I haven’t kept in touch with this year. And I’ll save all my baking for when I go home.
That should give me one more productive week.
Hohoho!
